Lower risk by having the right spare inventory on hand!

Industrial facilities evolve over time. As equipment is installed, upgraded, and removed the critical spare parts needed to support shift. The financial threat that looms by not having the right inventory is real. Downtime and lost production impact the bottom line dramatically and taking a proactive approach is the key.

How can you ensure you have the right critical spares on hand?

The overall process is seamless and here is how we walk beside you through the journey:

  • Define what is critical – no one knows your process like yourself. Vendors can support but at the end of the day it is your call on what is deemed critical to your process.
  • Assess the install base using your definition of critical – this is where the team at EECO can support. We will do the heavy lifting and provide a detailed understanding of the current install base and existing storeroom conditions.
  • Identify the gaps – the IBE will highlight two key areas that need to be understood:
    • Inventory needed – holes in what is installed and what is in spare inventory
    • Inventory to be removed – inventory being stored with no record of usage – think carburetor for a 1957 Chevy and you are still holding one because you just never know. If the process does not use it, then it is time to remove it.
  • Act
    • Start with a subset of the highest risk areas and act there
    • Consider availability as decisions are made - lead times should be factored into decision making.
